The Utica Zoo is in need of the following volunteers:
Special Events Volunteer – will help out at all the special events the zoo puts on.
Administrative Volunteer – needed from time to time for large projects.
Animal-Care Volunteer – needs to commit to at least 4 hours per week for a minimum of 6 months with this volunteer opportunity. There may be some days that it will be very physical work and in harsh weather.
Zoo Ambassadors – this is a new program where volunteers serve as a host for guests. Your duties would be working a membership table, greeting and directing visitors to exhibits, and helping with the gift shop.
Grounds and Maintenance Volunteers – will work directly with the maintenance crew taking care of aspects of the zoo’s over 30-acre land that needs attention.
Zoo Docent – help educate the public about the zoo. This opportunity requires an orientation.
