VOLUNTEER RIDE SERVICES

Community Transportation Services – (518) 648-5911
Serving rides for the elderly, disabled, and disadvantaged persons in need of and without access to transportation for medical, health, and other necessary services.  Areas served Speculator, Lake Pleasant, Wells, Piseco, Hope, Benson, Hoffmeister, Long Lake, and Indian Lake.

RSVP Senior Medical Transportation Program – (315) 798-8710
The RSVP Senior Medical Transportation Program provides rides to seniors in Oneida County who are unable to access or qualify for other transportation services.

(Ride) Retired Individuals Driving Elderly – (315) 894-9917
A specialized program of The Retired & Senior Volunteer Program of Herkimer County. Catholic Charities providing transportation service for seniors to health related appointments. Booking needs to be made 48 hours in advanced.

American Cancer Society Road to Recovery Program – 1-800-227-2345
Provides transportation for cancer patients in active cancer treatment to chemotherapy and radiation. (Must be ambulate).

OFA of Herkimer County Transportation
Provides rides to seniors who are 60+. Wheelchair accessible vans are available, they suggest you call at least a week or more ahead. Suggested donations for transportation can be seen on the Herkimer County website.

  • Membership has its benefits: Discount program fees, mailed monthly newsletters, opportunity to attend all events that are hosted for members, and the discounted rate for the Fitness Room.

    Fees:

    • Senior Center: $30 per year for renewals, and $35 per year for new members
    • Fitness Room and Membership: $80.00 per year for renewals, and $85.00 per year for new members
    • Lifetime Membership: $250
    Includes security card. All memberships are due one (1) year after joining, and your membership will begin on the 1st day of the month in which you join.

    Lunch Program

    • 5 Days a week
    • Sponsored by Office of the Aging and Continuing Care
    • Time: 12:00
    • Suggested Donations: $2 for 60+ years old and $8 for under 60
    • You must sign up the day before you plan to have lunch
