Paratransit:
Paratransit is recognized in North America as special transportation services for people with disabilities or aging, often provided as a supplement to fixed-route bus and rail systems by public transit agencies.
The most flexible paratransit systems offer on-demand call-up door-to-door service from any origin to any destination in a service area. In addition to public transit agencies, paratransit services are operated by community groups or not-for-profit organizations.
Local Paratransit:
If you have a disability that makes it difficult or impossible to use the bus, you can use Call-A-Bus. Call-A-Bus has specialized transportation vehicles for individuals with disabilities, you need to be pre-registered to use the service. You can request one day in advance and no more than 14 days before the day you wish to travel you can call 315-797-1703 to request your ride. The Q’Straint – Mobility Device Securement System are installed on the main frame of a mobility device for a more secure bus ride. The first pair is free, and you can request at 315-797-7803.
