Fitness at Verona Beach

50 Forward Verona Beach boasts a full fitness center, a gymnasium, and a variety of classes that will help you to stay fit, healthy, and active.

Monday
Muscular Strength Training 10:15 am

This is a class that is sponsored by Silver Sneakers, and is FREE to Silver Sneakers members. This is a multi-level, equipment based, total body conditioning class designed to increase strength and flexibility. Participants move to music through a variety of exercises for the upper and lower body. You may wear any comfortable clothing that allows you to move move freely, sneakers are highly encouraged.

This class is taught by Donna Dearmond.

Ping Pong 1:00 pm

Join us for a fun game of table tennis.

Tuesday
Chair Guided Meditation & Stretching 9:30 am

Join Debby for a guided journey of relaxation set to soft background music. The focus of this guiding is to take some time for yourself, and to perhaps ultimately, obtain an enjoyable healthy experience. At the end of the class there will be a series of stretches to help with movement.

This class is taught by Debby Zampardi.

Open Pickleball 9:00 am

Pickleball is a racquet like sport that combines elements of badminton, tennis, and table tennis. Tow, three, or four players use solid wood paddles to hit a ball, similar to a wiffle ball, over a net. You may wear any comfortable clothing, and sneakers.

Wednesday

Yoga/Strength/Flexibility 10:30 am

This is an all levels class. It is perfect for beginners, those who have never tried Yoga, and those who practice regularly. In this class we will work on breathing techniques, balance, flexibility, and strength; while bringing peace into the mind, body, and spirit. Yoga is great for stress reduction, chronic pain, heart health, balance, flexibility, and fun. Wear comfortable clothing and bring a yoga mat.

This class is taught by Mary Jo Timpano. 

Thursday
Open Pickleball 1:00 pm

Tai Chi for Pain Management 10:00 am

In this class you will learn twelve movements to help manage pain in your muscles and joints. This is a safe and easy way to learn how to relieve pain and improve health and balance. Numerous studies have shown Tai Chi improves muscular strength, flexibility, immunity, relieves pain, and improves quality of life. Tai Chi is an art form that embraces the mind, body, and spirit. 

This class is taught by Chris Crandall.

Friday

    Fees:

    • Senior Center: $30 per year for renewals, and $35 per year for new members
    • Fitness Room and Membership: $80.00 per year for renewals, and $85.00 per year for new members
    • Lifetime Membership: $250
    Includes security card. All memberships are due one (1) year after joining, and your membership will begin on the 1st day of the month in which you join.

    • Suggested Donations: $2 for 60+ years old and $8 for under 60
