We might not be able to be together for the holidays this year, but that won’t stop us from celebrating. We hope you can join us for our 12 Events of Christmas this year! All of these events will be virtual, some will be shared via our website, email, and social media, while some will take place over Zoom. The Parkway Center plays a key role in our community and we are always looking for ways to help others. For example did you know that the Parkway Center helps a great deal with the homelss population in Oneida County? As the weather gets colder, we are looking to make sure the homeless population is able to stay warm. To this end we are asking for donations of scarves, hats, and gloves. We have an online registry with Boscovs where you can directly purchase items off the registry and they will be shipped to the Center. You can also drop items off Monday through Thursday from 9-11:30 am beginning December 1. You can shop our regsitry by clicking HERE this link will bring you right to the Parkway regsitry. We will be compiling cookie recipes from our members! Email your favorite recipe(s) to saraspezzano@theparkwaycenter.org or give us a call at (315) 223-3973 and we will write the recipe down for you. Once the recipes are collected they will be share with members through email, social media, and will be available on the website!
This event wil take place on Zoom at 11:00 am. We invite you to join us to talk about your favorite Christmas cookies, and memories of the holiday season. This is a group that will run on Tuesdays beginning December 8 through the 22 and starting at 1:00 pm. In this group we will identify and explore creative ways to de-stress during the holidays. On December 9 at 11:00 am one of our members, Ginger, will lead a holiday craft event making a seasonal candy wreath (pictured to the left.) For this craft you will need: 1 large bag of wrapped hard candy with twisted ends, 1 spool of red or green curling ribbon, 1 spool of red or green satin ribbon, 1 five inch embroidering hoop, a piece of cardboard 7×4 inches, 1 book, 1 rubber band, and scissors. On December 14 the Parkway Center will release a video of holiday memories throughout the years. This video will be available on the Parkway Center website, YouTube Channel, and Facebook page.

Join us for a holiday themed member social hour this month! We will meet at 10:00 am and will have a fun interactive time, and will talk about some of our favorite holiday traditions. We will be collecting food at this event for the Veteran’s Outreach Center. If you are able please consider bringing a nonperishable food item to donate at the luncheon. You must make your payment by December 11 to reserve your lunch. You can mail or call in to the Center to pay. You can also drop off a payment Monday-Thursday between 9am-12pm (please call ahead of time so someone can meet you to take your payment.)Â
