Dear Volunteers and Community Partners,
Happy New Year! It is so exciting to welcome this new year, 2021. I can’t wait to see what amazing things 2021 has to hold for the Volunteer Department. With that being said, the Parkway Center’s website has some changes being made to the volunteer section. January 1st we will be launching our new Online Volunteer Platform! This is now the one stop shop for all things volunteering. It includes all the locations where you can volunteer, the opportunities available at each organization, as well as our volunteer blog so you can stay up to date with the Volunteer Department. You will also be able to find volunteer attendance sheets as well as mileage sheets that you can print off whenever you may need them. The purpose of this platform is to make sure the whole volunteering experience goes smoothly, from start to finish. We want to make sure that the older adults of Oneida County can easily access information on volunteering. As volunteering is an amazing activity to incorporate into your daily life. Volunteering not only benefirts the individuals/organizations, but it also give the volunteer an amazing purpose. We all go about our daily lives wanting to make a positive impact in our communities and volunteering is the perfect way to do this.
Volunteers needed:
As we enter the new year, the Parkway Center is in need of volunteer drivers for our NEMT program, grocery shopping, and our New 2 U Thrift Store. Safety protocols have been put into place to make sure all of our volunteer opportunities are safe. Please give us a call if you are interested in learning more about the volunteer opportunities we have to offer.
Join our Friendly Caller Program:
We would also love to grow our Friendly Caller Program. Both volunteers and individuals wanting a friendly caller are welcome to call the Parkway Center and we will get you all set up.
You can reach us at (315) 223-3973!
Happy New Year!
Sincerely,
Sarah Maphia
