To our valued members, volunteers, and partners:
Time feels like it is standing still, but here we are and it has been over 9 months since we closed to the public. We have heard from many people wanting to know if we have any news on when we can reopen. I am hoping that as we approach the new year, we will have good news to share about when we will reopen, but as of right now we do not. When we do reopen we have plans in place to ensure we open safely with all health guidelines in place until we can put this pandemic behind us.
At the Parkway Center our mission is to “provide programs and services to individuals 50+ empowering them to live healthy and vibrant lives.” We know how important this mission is, now more than ever, and we are committed to following our mission despite not being open to the public. We are working on ways to bring programs and services to you through some non-traditional ways, with the use of technology and the internet. We have begun sharing resources and tips every day on our Facebook page and website; and we are working with partners to develop programming that can be brought to your homes through these sources. Some of you may not have the ability to connect online, so our staff are also making personal phone calls to check on everyone’s well-being and providing information on resources available in the community.
This has truly been one of the most difficult times in our history, and I want to sincerely thank each of you for your patience and support as we face the unknown. Throughout this time, we are grateful to those in the community that are finding ways to respond responsibly to this crisis to help those among us who have the most need. You are all a part of the Parkway Center family and I hope that you and your families remain safe and healthy now and in the days to come.
